This talk looks at contemporary fire festivals in Scotland – Stonehaven Fireballs, the Burning of the Clavie, Up-Helly-Aa, and Edinburgh’s Beltane – offering compelling imagery and an exploration of their history, meaning, function, and relevance in today’s artificially lit world.
